About Q-SHI


Q-SHI found its beginning many years ago in a small dirt road town in Georgia. Ray Aker used to stay up late nights with his dad smoking meat that they would ultimately sell as lunch plates at textile mills. After leaving home and volunteering his service to the U.S. Navy, Ray was further influenced by many different Asian cuisines as he travelled the far east in service to his country. He was stationed in San Diego where he found his true love Rose and another culinary love: Sushi. He didn’t realize at the time that those experience sowed the fertile seeds that have become Q-SHI.


Ray’s southern roots and heart for service to others is the well from which the atmosphere Q-SHI flows. He has never met a stranger and always wants to feed someone!

The focus is on three simple things:

  • Making you feel welcomed when you walk through the door.
  • Ensuring that you get a great meal. If something isn’t right or to your liking we will happily replace it.
  • Working to make sure that you are properly cared for while you are here.

If by chance you have not experienced these things during your visit, please let our staff know. We do not count ourselves among the perfect, but we do work really hard to fix our mistakes if you let us!
